Description

Polyvine Heavy Duty Wood Varnish- Dead Flat Finish 500 ml pint

I wanted a product that could be used to seal wood surfaces that will also be compatible with paint and not “amber” them if I’m painting with a white.  As a sign maker and furniture artist, it’s important to have products that can work together.  This product will also be great for when you sand down a table and just want to seal it and not stain it.  This is also the product I recommend you use to topcoat you use if you stain your surface with a polyvine wood dye.

preparation
All surfaces must be clean and free from dust, dirt, oil and contamination. Remove oils/resins from oily hardwoods and resinous softwoods. Sand to a smooth finish and remove all dust.

application
Ensure the product is well mixed. Apply 3 thin coats of varnish and brush out well. Too thick a coating, or pooling in crevices, will dry with a white haze.
On new wood and porous surfaces dilute the first coat 10% with water. Lightly sand wood in between applications to remove any raising of the grain that may have occurred.
When using dead flat finish, if a very high level of durability and stain resistance is required, apply one or two coats of Heavy Duty Wood Varnish Satin Finish followed by one or two coats of Hard Wearing Wood Varnish Dead Flat Finish.
